History

The delivery of History at EBN Academy will give students the opportunity to study how people of different cultures and societies relate to each other and the world in which we live. A study of how people have lived in the past, provides a means by which students can apply their direct experience of the world around them and extend their understanding of it in personal, local, national and global contexts. History aims to develop the skills and understanding needed to equip young people to play an active, well-informed role in the community, and prepare them for further education.

In depth studies of the Modern World covering topics such as World War I and 2, International relations during crisis, local History, Medicine through time will lead to a qualification at Key Stage 4 in GCSE history. This, in turn, should inspire students towards developing their knowledge and understanding and offer potential future career pathways linked to History.
